After more than a decade of efforts (with the help of a kind and helpful biomed graduate) obsessively studying the obstacles and working on challenges most wouldn't know exist, I was haunted by the knowledge, that while the challenges in Cancer are immensely more complicated than the simplistic perceptions held by many, we'd long known (with support for new teams and approaches) much more could be attempted to greatly improve the odds for some patients by:
Making better use of advanced medical imaging in "Detection and Grading of cancers" and "Improved Guided Surgical Procedures.
1a. Making it possible for more Lumpectomy procedures (Surgically removing tumours with wide margins) to be carried out without prior Biopsies .
Requirements Include: Facilitating more trained surgeons dedicated to such procedures skilled in Lumpectomy procedures in each of the common anatomical tissue sites in which tumours develop, Breast, Prostate, Bladder. Colon, Lung , Kidney, Pancreatic, etc.
1b. Introducing wider use of liquid Biopsies CTC and ctDNA
Supporting efforts to enable (patient specific) live cells to be used to pre-test treatments on.
Something currently rarely done for patients due to technical limitations time commitments, costs and refine cell culture processes etc. See Rapid Explore
Requirements Include: Overcoming ridiculous barriers in putting samples of patient cells and waste tumour tissue to use and storing samples which could eventually transform the chances of survival for some patients. Outside of the host patient a piece of tumour tissue is generally no more dangerous than tissue from a body piercing , however changes in regulations and processes to overcome the ridiculous obstacles (Including bureaucracy) are needed.
Streamlining patient consent: (Most patients would gladly allow their cells or waste tumour tissue to be used for worthy purposes) The current single point regulatory approaches with social monopoly positions on authority (Having almost absolute authority, yet heavily resistant to change) could benefit from adding additional regulators to add greatly needed driving competition.
1c. Support for a new team and facility to produce and refine the cell processing equipment. See Rapid Explore
Gaining support for an entirely new type of not for profit NHS partner (not managed by those on excessive salaries, but unlike other inefficient social cause models, driven by active competition) Facilitating the development of much needed new models in international research and development (And social health care to address massive inefficiencies in social monopolies) See Rapid Explore The facility (and assembling a team for this) will require significant seed funding.
With our years of voluntary efforts on such worthy endeavours, (genuinely driven by need, not money) in an ideal world we'd find it easy to gain support. In practice things are very different. As passionate outsiders working to overcome challenges and obstacles most don't know exist , and critical of current inefficient models often with conflicts of interest and excessive management salaries within the NHS. (its private partnerships) Charities and other Social Enterprises (often interconnected) Many of those we were asking for support from were not keen on going out of their way to help with such a radical new model critical of excessive salaries and conflicts of interest.
Other individual biomedical scientists who could interpret what we are aiming for were much more helpful. but with limited say in project funding etc.
The search for other sources for the significant funding
I'd been exploring developing platforms to hunt for waste in civil service spending. Organizations which are notoriously wasteful and inefficient (problems common to most Social Monopolies). Which could be improved by adding driving competition and using modern technology to add real-time customer feedback as opposed to relying on complaints regulators which as Social Monopolies themselves, and often equally as inefficient....
Again in this unusual but 100% verifiable background story and tragedy delaying a decade of genuine serious efforts (100% verifiable from years of digital correspondences alone)
The name Humanities Federation was inspired by years of struggles on worthy causes involving complex challenges, and knowing the need to form new ways to facilitate and fund better international cause focused dynamic teams for those complex challenges.
From an equally unusual l extensive secondary cluster of interests in the mechanisms of cruel destructive conflicts, and contributions to International OpenSource conflict investigations I'd learned the value of dynamic team formations, assembling temporary teams of the right people for each task.
In Northern Ireland I also knew a fraction of the resources wasted policing hate and terrorism could easily provide the seed funding.
Again from my extensive life long secondary interest in conflict mechanisms driving cruel barbarism, and significant contributions to international Open Source investigations.
I knew all so-called revolutionary Terrorists relied heavily on propaganda and intentionally charging hate energy to exploit divisions for political ends.
In 2018 the struggles described below among other Northern Ireland factors contributed to a path to years of additional unnecessary and extremely destructive contests. (In my unique circumstances) the cascade of impacts from extreme prolonged stresses would derail my ability to push forward with urgent endeavours. Years of serious efforts on serious urgent challenges for extremely worthy urgent causes. Derailed by Ignorance and failings to concede errors. with serious costs.
These need put an end to as I need every ounce of concentration to urgently overcome challenges and gaining support for important goals urgent to many, (including patients who don't have the luxury of time on their side)
I'm sharing this with some of whom acknowledgement of errors, apologies and corrective actions are long over due. Due to the unusual circumstances and extreme urgency, and those functioning as stubborn obstacles . if acknowledgement of errors, apologies do not happen quickly. I'll be taking measures to highlight the issues and extreme costs.
Problems with current Civil Service include:
1 Civil Service Management (As repeatedly demonstrated in scandals, those with monopoly positions on authority, lacking efficient real-time customer feedback and incentive for efficient micromanagement will often waste vast resources and even destroy lives, as opposed to putting efforts into difficult tasks such as conceding errors and misconduct!
1a In my personal this involved multiple civil service authorities, with the usual mess of attempting to communicate with multiple departments and multiple individuals within each.
1b So far most have been reluctant to even provide the necessary appropriate single points of contacts, essential for efficient communications. (Individuals with the authority and will to act swiftly and fairly as opposed to passing difficult tasks around, or on to equally inefficient complaints regulators. No matter how urgent fair informal apologies are!
1c The serious toll events took on our efforts, and the impact of years of unnecessary prolonged stress took on my personal capacity and limited resources.
As verifiable from multiple sources including the biomed graduate who'd kindly donated many years to very serious efforts on urgent worthy goals. I lost my ability to focus (Concentrate for any length of time on tasks) besides our main goals I'd promised cancer patients I'd doo all I could to push forward as fast as I can, including promising a young mother with 3 children that I'd try to push to help her gain access to am important new test (Cell Search) to help give better clues to guide her treatment.
