And men love dogs too, I know of several men who'd probably choose their hound over their wife if put in such a position. That's difficult for non-dog owners to understand. In some cases there's no contest

A little hound who never leaves my side, whom waits for me to go to bed no matter how late, sleeps on the pillow next to me each night 'after routinely removing his collar for the night' dutifully licks my hand, waits for me to rub his back and makes his little murmurings sounds 'letting me know he's happy',,, before drifting of to sleep .
