Competitive Humanitarian Enterprise Serving Society - CHESS
A new business model for social good, driving worthy causes, like Rapid Explore and providing sustainable sources of self funding to these. worthy causes.
If public support and seed funding can be gained, what we have in mind is not just big; it’s enormous, involving the creation of one of the largest Life Science industries in Europe, "An Ethically Driven one" partnering with the NNS providing low cost innovative, value products to one of the largest purchasers of life science products in the world, the NHS; to achieve this will require a special space, investment and a new model of funding and supporting an ethically driven project of this scale. Removing shareholder profit and excessive management salaries from Cancer R&D (While actively retaining competition to drive progress) could open up new possibilities (Including enabling the mighty international OpenSource R&D model) removing restrictions to Greater Teamwork, Sharing of Technology and facilitating Faster Cheaper Patient Trials.
Funding "Ethically Driven" advances in research & patient care while saving the NHS a fortune. A cause focused business model for teamwork and a new model of NHS partnership, focused on speeding advances & savings, with practical operational restrictions & monitoring to ensure these remain cause focused as opposed to profiting from the NHS.
A little on the journey, and why I’m so certain we have something valuable here.
In 2008 my mother became the latest person in my life to be diagnosed with cancer, to cut a long story short after an intense period of study when I learned of the scale of technical challenges in accurately monitoring and treating cancers, this led to an unusual need driven endeavour to develop mechanisms to reduce the vast guesswork in cancer. Against astronomical odds, through sheer determination we managed to make headway in overcoming some of the technical challenges (Rare-cell isolation etc.); we need assistance to refine & develop the prototype devices, these are not complete solutions, but components of the systems we wish to produce, However a few of these also have application as standalone products which supersede the capabilities of widely used existing products with a large global market, therefore having the potential for serious local job creation and eventually trimming some of the 21 Billion which Cancer costs the UK each year.
Currently public Cancer R&D funding is either directed towards normal biotech companies or university research which frequently involves individuals with dual roles (receiving incomes from the Universities while having ties to the biotech Industry) in my experience some of those have serious conflicts of interest and don't serve our NHS or society well. Imagine if public R&D funding were to be allocated to the CHESS models (Competitive Humanitarian Enterprises Serving Society)
For good reasons I'm a critic of the current Social Monopolies which are top heavy, heavily resistant to change and to intertwined with seasoned grant grabbers, which often have serious conflicts of interest.

What I’d like Local Government to do is to make time to consider immediately supporting a small pilot project to test and refine a bold new approach, a new business model for social good which could create many local Jobs. A model designed to overcome the limitations of private, state and current social enterprises when it comes to maximising ways to improve society, I refer to this model as a: Competitive-Humanitarian-Enterprise-Serving-Society (CHESS) see diagram.
In 2017 local government produced a 13000 word Inclusive Strategic Growth Plan; titled "Our Community Plan"

Some extracts from the document: A time of challenge, A time for a new story, a time of opportunity, innovation, challenge, Governance matters, this is our time - a new ambition and approach.
It also mentions life sciences. They'd asked for feedback, I'd provided that & asked for assistance for our new model, I didn't even receive a response!
As before each of multiple waves of terrorism, Northern Ireland is being targeted in campaigns by anti-Western National Socialist for whom the destruction of Northern Ireland is a main priority. who have no genuine interest in prioritizing worthy goals important to all.
