In many ways we are fighting two viruses, one is an information virus which has significantly aided the spread of the deadly #Covid19 virus by leaving populations distracted & confused.

Busting Unhelpful COVID19 Conspiracies

Looney conspiracies may be entertaining, yet due to their ability to distract and confuse these are far from harmless! As it happens I have an extensive life long secondary interest in the mechanisms used to drive cruel destructive conflicts. Political warfare propaganda has long been the weapon of choice for dictators fighting the advance of democracy, they've long use it to weaken democracies. Essential to this are interface groups & maintaining so-called Revolutionary movements (Useful Idiots including terrorists) used to exploit divisions, weaken economies, target political opposition and keep defence forces tied up with internal conflicts. (although those efforts are almost invisible, see below examples)

For those of us aware of the history, (how cold & cruel dictators have been in actions to weaken democracies) Covid-19 was always way to great of an opportunity for dictators to not to exploit, creation confusion, maximising lock-downs to weaken economies.

In the wars between democracies (Imperfect but somewhat accountable governments) & dictators fighting the advance of democracy for their very survival, the reckless destructive opportunistic exploitation of opportunities to weaken democracies, their economies & alliances is not new; those aware of the history will not be surprised that even the deadly Covid19 pandemic is exploited by propaganda aimed at increasing panic, division & chaos. A few examples included below.

Dictators fighting the advance of democracy (for their very survival) have long covertly reinforced extremists, anti-western cults & used their alt-media in propaganda to demoralise, weaken & cripple imperfect western democracies with divisions. In fact since the French revolution media propaganda has been a reckless destructive weapon, later in the 1800's, (Long before the Nazis) driven by simplistic idealism a few Communist publishers began to promote Nationalist Anarchism & Terrorism for so-called revolutionary aims, the most famous of those was Karl Marx, an idealist who failed to recognise (or wilfully ignored) that monopolies & human greed were at the root of many problems, not market capitalism, or that the solutions to these was not disastrous Social Monopolies, but adding practical competition & better workable regulations to limit monopolies.

One of the heroes in the fight against this destructive almost invisible destructive political warfare is Vasili Mitrokhin it's a shame that few even know his name.

Below are just a few historical examples of the power of media propaganda. Marxism & it's child Nazism used to create Virtual Realities with simplistic targets of blame to manipulate populations.

The Power of Nazi Propaganda

The Nazis (aka Nationalist Socialists Party ) adopted the anti-democratic tool-set of communism, state control of media, propaganda, simple righteous messaging, the formation of fronts, workers & activists movements they exploited human tribalism by directing hate & blame, making claims to historical territories in a post democratic world leading to great destruction & unimaginable human suffering.

These chilling Nazi broadcasts may sound familiar to the messaging used to weaken democracies today .

Note the efforts to amplify mistrust in the BBC & imperfect western governments. Even convincing sections of populations that imperfect Western governments are as bad as dictatorships is a win!

Unfortunately after years of Alt-Media (Media which does not subscribe to media standards) large sections of populations have been primed to swallow many of the same narratives & deceptions again today. An approach so successful that even unwitting genuine journalists often fall into line.

Vasili Mitrokhin one of the greatest heroes in exposing this almost invisible destructive & deadly type of warfare used by dictatorships to weaken democracies & ignite divisive conflicts (collectively referred to as Active Measures) He took great personal risks to expose the methods & extent oppressive communist dictatorships had used not only well meaning Useful Idiots, but also the so-called international Revolutionary network in waves of International Terrorism , it's a great shame that few even know his name.

As the goals of continuous propaganda include influencing large sections of target populations to oppose their own leaders (Especially leaders promoting the advance of democracy, or non-divisive leaders) Appealing to tribal identities, often along National, Ethnic or Racial lines, or social causes using using righteous messaging (Anti-War, Environment etc) . Any large group with influence which couldn't be harnessed was a problem. Although anti-religious communism (Which had long persecuted Christians) had still managed to fool many individual church leaders, Christianity with it's genuine core ethics & large followings was an obstacle & therefore a prime target for demoralisation.
